How it works...
Below is a run down on how the show is produced on your ship.
You supply the cast and venue.
We supply everything else.
One of our installation directors will sign on for the two-week installation one month after your production cast signs on to commence their contract. Our director will have already communicated with the dance captain via email to discuss the casting process and the rehearsal schedule.
The day the Director signs on, they will unpack the costumes and set them up in the dressing room for the fitting after the fun “Table Read” casting session with the cast. The Director and DC will cast seven of your show’s entertainers, including dancers and singers, for the Mystery.
The first week, they will rehearse up to 90 minutes daily, either in the actual restaurant or another available space.
When not rehearsing, the director will prepare the costumes and props, meet with the Maître d’ and F&B, arrange promotions of the show with the M&R, and touch base with the stage staff to secure the assistance of a tech to manage the sound system for the show.
A short commercial will also be created using the cast’s pictures, which can be displayed on the guests’ TVs to generate interest and excitement.
After a dress rehearsal in the second week, the show will commence its exhilarating six-month run. The program will then be your ships special event to run.
The Evening
After a 20-minute Act One exposition in one of the ship’s lounges, the guests will be escorted to the restaurant where the mystery unfolds. Each course of their delectable dinner will be followed by a 15-minute set, providing intrigue between courses. On opening night, the director will review the timing of each course with the Maître d’ and Mystery Captain. After the dessert is served, the cast will reveal the winning guest.
As the cast’s sign-off date approaches, the Mystery Captain will meticulously inventory all the costumes and props, ensuring they are ready for the new cast’s arrival.
After the installation, a report will be sent to our ship contact, detailing the successful completion of the installation.
Performing in the Mystery adds an exciting element to the cast’s life, providing them with a fun and enjoyable experience outside of the production show.
Your ships may have harbored mysteries in the past, but we assure you that this is unlike anything you’ve ever encountered. Unlike charters that bring on their own performers to entertain their pre-booked guests, this is your Mystery Masters program, designed for you to present to your guests on your ships.
Our History
We have been producing Mysteries for ships for the past two decades, with the most recent installations being on Royal Caribbean ships. Our three directors in the US and two directors in Europe have installed Mysteries on over 13 ships. However, this program is currently not running on any ship.
With your interest, that will change.
